Are you lonesome today?

Elvis Presley penned a song about being lonesome and recently the United Kingdom decided to tackle loneliness too. They call it a public health issue. “Loneliness's impact is comparable to smoking 15 cigarettes a day, and greater than that of obesity...[and is] a risk factor for early mortality” according to research done by BYU and UNC at Chapel Hill.


Loneliness is not just a symptom of being alone. Someone can be in the midst of a crowd, or live under the same roof with family and still be lonely. We were made for relationship. It doesn't mean we have to be in relationship with everyone. Just having a few close relationships is one cure. Jesus promised in in Matthew 28:20, “I am with you always, even to the end of the world.” That's a long-term relationship right there.


How God designed the relationship of angels to His creation is one way He shows His love for us. He desires to be in relationship with us. We encourage you to learn more about this relationship. The first book in our series, “Angel Watching Over Me,” offers more study and insight into this.


If you feel lonesome today, tonight, or sometime this week, instead of turning on the tv to get your mind off the loneliness open your Bible or open one of our angel books and relish the thought that you were made for relationship.
