They're here! They're here! More angel stories!! The second book in the Where Is Your Angel?™ series was delivered yesterday. It is aptly titled, “Where Is Your Angel?™” We are checking them in and making sure they are good to send to all of you. They will be available to have in your hot little hands after Labor Day. You can order them now, they just won't fly out of our offices until the first week of September.
Wingsday also means angels wings around here. When an angel comes down from heaven it is usually in response to prayers or to offer help or comfort of some sort. In recorded history angels are a sign of relief sent from God. He sees a person, hears their prayers and sends a messenger (who just so happens to have wings) in response. Bringing answers to prayers are one of the “skill sets” of angels. On this “Wingsday” thank God for sending His angels to help you. #thankful #angels #newbook #angelstories

There is something you can do for yourself that will not only help your body, but also help your mind and spirit. It's like a three-in-one. If you are like me, you like getting more done in less time. It's a two birds with one stone mentality. Prayer is the one thing you can do that costs you nothing really and touches every area of your life.
Not only does the Bible say so, science and research are catching up with what the Bible has said for thousands of years. A 2014 article in Psychology Today listed five measurable benefits of prayer found in different research. Some of those benefits were having more self-control, being more forgiving, and offsetting the negative health effects of stress. In 1998 cardiologist Dr. Randolph Byrd conducted his own research and found that cardiac patients who had three-seven Christians praying for them needed fewer antibiotics, had a lower percentage of congestive heart failure and were less likely to develop pneumonia. In a 2015 article in Newsmax, Dr. Koenig from Duke University said a culmination of over 1,500 scientific studies, “indicates people who are more religious and pray more have better mental and physical health.” He also went on to say that, “out of 125 studies that looked at the link between health and regular worship, 85 showed regular churchgoers live longer.” Interesting and fascinating. Here are some Bible verses on prayer: “Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.” Romans 12:12 “Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.” Colossians 4:2 “Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.” James 5:16 There are many other studies and books out there to back up the claims of Scripture that prayer will do you more good than harm. The great thing about prayer is that you can do it anywhere, anytime. Just this morning after dropping off my kids at school, I was praying while in traffic. You're just sitting there, may as well as do something productive with the time. I felt better because I did. So, why not do something good for your body, mind, and spirit today? Say a prayer. I said one for you. How much thought have you given to angels? When did you first "discover" them? What is their purpose? Why are they here? Who sent them?
When we were young we were told about a man who came while we slept and put presents for us under the tree. We were also told about a bunny who would leave a basket of goodies on the table for us while we slept. Then we were told when we lost a tooth, the tooth fairy would come and put money under our pillow in exchange for our baby tooth while we were fast asleep. We, of course, tell our kids the same things. (Maybe part of the reason we tell these tales is to get them to sleep!! Can I get a witness?!?) So many fairy tales we tell and believe in when we are young. I remember getting older and not believing in them anymore. It was a let down. What is there to believe in when you reach that age? Is there anything to hope for anymore? "Absolutely!" is the answer to those questions. One of the reasons I wrote the Where Is Your Angel?™ series is to give lasting hope and to create uplifting dialogue. Angels are something that last in every season and in every stage of life. Angels point us to the God who created us and loves us. They are His extension of His love and care for us here on earth. You are invited to come along on the journey with me, and with your angel, and discover (or re-discover) the joyful delight of angels, the child-like belief and faith that give you hope no matter your age. Thinking about it with you. #angels#whereisyourangel#hope #seasons #thinkingaboutit I love to cook and bake and eat. The last part might be my favorite though! Here is a treat to start out the week sweet. It's called "Angel Strawberry Dessert".

We both love books and give each other book recommendations. So I thought a pop quiz would be fun today. Do you know what is the best selling book of all-time? Do you know how many copies it has sold?
J.R.R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings has sold over 300 million copies but doesn't even come close to the all-time best seller. The best selling book of all-time has sold more than 5 Billion copies. You probably have one in your home or know someone who does or you stay at a hotel that has a copy in the nightstand. Have I given you enough clues to guess?? The best selling book of all-time is the Bible. It is one of my favorite books. It is an all encompassing book. It has family drama, political drama, war, peace, proverbs, love stories, do good stories, and angel stories. I encourage you to pick it up and find a favorite story or proverb. Share it with us. Here is one angel story from the Bible that is in the first book, "Angel Watching Over Me" about a donkey and a prophet. The prophet was going where he shouldn't have been going with people he had no business being with. He got on his donkey and started to go with the people. An angel stood in the path with a sword in its hand opposing the prophet. The donkey saw the angel but the prophet didn't. The donkey kept turning in another direction away from the angel to spare the prophet's life. This happened three times. Each time the prophet beat the donkey. Then, the Lord opened the donkey's mouth and it spoke. The donkey called the prophet out and then the prophet's eyes were opened to see the angel. The prophet straightened up after that sight and conversation. I think that would certainly get my attention too! In the kids' book, "Angel Watching Over Me", this story is shortened to 2 rhyming sentences and the illustrator did a great job making it "kid friendly". May you enjoy reading a best seller today! #bestseller #whereisyourangel #angel #bible Happy Wingsday! It's Wingsday around here and it's time to give you a fruity tip. Have you ever opened a banana and only eaten 1/2 of it? What do you with the other 1/2 so that it doesn't brown and get mushy?
I don't like to waste anything and I don't like throwing things away. So, if you are like me and like to eat every piece of everything you bought this tip is for you. Take the remaining banana as is (hopefully still in the skin) and place it in the microwave. Don't turn the microwave on. Use the microwave as a storage container. It will keep the banana fresh for a couple days so you can eat it fresh and not mushy. Happy Wingsday eating! Angels are all throughout the Bible performing different tasks to help God's people. We all like to get help and some times we need more help than at other times. Today, on Make It Matter Monday!, I would like to encourage you to make your day matter by making someone else's day matter.
Here are a few suggestions to get you thinking about how or what you can do: *a "just thinking of you" phone call to an elderly relative, neighbor, or friend *a hand written "get well soon" mailed note *make a little extra dinner and invite a neighbor or friend over *pay for the meal of the person behind you in the drive-thru *give someone a genuine compliment on their hair, clothes, or work Make your day matter by focusing intentionally on other people. The irony of it is that you will feel better because you did. And the beauty of it is that the other person will feel better because you did too. How or what did you do to make it matter? Drop us a line and tell us what you did! It's Wingsday! An angel's favorite day of the week.
Last night I was reading a monthly letter from Joyce Meyer. She said something that I thought would be helpful to some of you. It sure was a blessing to me. She said, "Worrying is like making a down payment on a problem you may never even have. It wars against faith and is a thief rooted in fear, stealing your today through agonizing over tomorrow." So when you feel worry creeping up on you or in your thoughts, take a hold of it, put it in an envelope with no return address and send it up to God. He'll handle it. So today, let me encourage you to make it a "Worry-Free Wingsday!" Your spirit will feel light as a feather if you do. Did you know that according to recent polls 8 out of 10 adults believe in angels? Did you know that according the author's own man on the street interviews she found out that 10 out of 10 adults do not believe in Santa Claus or the Tooth Fairy?
