I don't know about you but I feel like fixing something yummy today and having it to enjoy the rest of the weekend. If it makes it that long! We have hundreds (yes 100s!!) of angel recipes on our Pinterest page (www.pinterest.com/whereisyourangel). Here's one of them that is sure to please, only has a handful of ingredients, and is easy to make. Winner, winner, forget about dinner!
Seven Minutes in Heaven Cake Ingredients 1 box of angel food cake 2 boxes of instant chocolate pudding (prepared accordingly) 4 c. heavy cream 1/4 T. powered sugar 1 t. vanilla extract chocolate shavings Instructions 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 2. Prepare angel food cake according to package directions. Pour about 2/3 mixture into a 9x13 ungreased baking pan. Bake until slightly golden (25-30 minutes). Let cool. 3. When the cake has cooled poke big holes across the surface of the cake using the rounded end of a wooden spoon. 4. Pour prepared chocolate pudding mix over the cake and spread with a spatula making sure to fill in and cover the holes. Cover and refrigerate for 2 hours. (You could also use a different kind of pudding mix - french vanilla, banana cream, pistachio, coconut, or strawberry - depending on mood, season, or event.) 5. In a large bowl combine the heavy cream, sugar, and vanilla. Beat until stiff peaks form. 6. Spread over cake and garnish with chocolate shavings. (I also like to add chocolate shavings to the pudding mix for texture.) Eat, enjoy, repeat! See if it lasts you the whole weekend!! #heaven #angels #weekend

The historical Reverend and Dr. Billy Graham passed away yesterday. His life and legacy are rooted in Christ. Today I want to take a moment to honor his life and the Lord he served. He wrote many best selling books. One of those books was on angels. It has sold millions and millions of copies and has been revised. It's called "Angels: God's Secret Agents." It's also available as an audio book. He also wrote a book titled, "Angels: Ringing Assurance that We Are Not Alone."
I found a You Tube video on Dr. and Rev. Graham preaching about angels. It is worth watching and here is the link for you: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cK7v2Z_SqxI Here are some of his quotes that are worth repeating: Being a Christian is more than just an instantaneous conversion - it is a daily process whereby you grow to be more and more like Christ. When wealth is lost, nothing is lost; when health is lost, something is lost; when character is lost, all is lost. He lived life well and I am confident that he has heard his Savior say, "Well done, thou good and faithful servant...Come, you who are blessed by My Father inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world." Matt 25:23-34 Thank You Lord for Billy Graham: his life, his legacy, and his love for You. #angels #billygraham #welldone It's nice to have an advocate. Someone who will go to bat for you and has your best interests in mind. Jesus (and His helper angels) are a source of advocacy for us. There is a song that has been rolling around in my head that paints that picture perfectly. Here it is:
Before the Throne of God Above (originally titled "Advocate") by Charitie Lees Bancroft Before the throne of God above I have a strong, a perfect plea; A great High Priest, whose Name is Love, Who ever lives and pleads for me. My name is graven on His hands, My name is written on His heart; I know that while with God He stands No tongue can bid me thence depart. Although this is just part of the song, it is powerful. You or I may never know a President or a Supreme Court Justice, but we have someone who is greater than all of them combined. The best part is, He hears our plea and takes it to the One who has the authority to do something. My great uncle was a Marine in WWII. He had a tatoo when it was considered manly or strong. I really don't remember what it said but let's say it said, "MOM" in a heart. That would be very endearing, showing how much he loved his mom that he had a permanent mark on his arm with her name. How endearing that our names are written, graven on His hands. As a reminder of His love and affection for us. I'd rather have an advocate who went to the pains to put my name on his body than to have one who was just doing a job for a paycheck. How great that this Advocate wants to hear everyone's plea (a request made in an urgent or emotional manner such as a convict). How awesome that His name isn't "Tomorrow" or "Hateful." His name is "Love." That's what I want. Someone named Love, who embodies the meaning of the word to advocate on my behalf. Here's another tidbit to chew on found in Hebrews 4:14-16: 14 Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. 15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. 16 Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. I like how in verse 14 it says, "ascended into heaven". Angels ascend and descend into heaven and down to earth. How comforting all around. We like being in the angel business and helping you realize you can have some divine advocates. All you have to do is ask. #advocate #angels #Jesus #angelwatchingoverme #whereisyourangel Today is Presidents' Day. Observed on the third Monday in February, it was initially meant to honor our first and greatest President, George Washington. This was the first federal holiday for an individual. Interesting tidbit is that the only other person to get their own federal holiday is Martin Luther King, Jr. Over the course of time, the holiday has come to include President Abraham Lincoln as well. It can also (although not officially) be known to honor and recognize the accomplishments of other Presidents as well.
So on this day, be thankful for our first leader, George Washington, who was a visionary with Godly convictions. Without his skill (both on the war front and behind an executive desk), we would not be the country we are today. Also on this day, remember to pray for our current President, Donald Trump, that he would have wisdom and sound judgment to guide our country like the Presidents' we honor and remember today. #presidents #wisdom #guidance What a great day today is! It's a triple here at Where Is Your Angel?™ Not only is it Wingsday, it is also Valentine's Day AND the beginning of Lent. What an amazing day! St. Valentine was known for his strong convictions of love. Lent means "spring" and is observed for a period of 40 days. Lent is a season of reflection, sacrifice, and renewal. It refreshes and purges the soul bringing us closer to Jesus.
On this special day, know that you are loved. "God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son (Jesus) that whoever believes on Him should not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16 That is your special "love verse" from God to you. May today be as special or even more special to you than it is to us. May you receive and know His great love for you. Happy Valentine's Day! Or better put, Happy Love Day! #love #Jesus #wingsday #angels Ever wondered how to cook a baked potato in the microwave? It's quicker than the oven and comes out great. This is how I cook potatoes in the microwave. I usually don't put any more than 2 potatoes in the microwave at a time.
Microwave Baked Potatoes Clean medium sized potatoes. (However many you need for the mouths you're feeding.) Do NOT dry potatoes off. Potatoes should still be wet. Thoroughly poke each potato with a fork. (2-3 times on 4 sides) Wrap in a moist (not soaked) paper towel. Put 1-2 potatoes in the microwave at a time. Cook for 3-5 minutes. (If you dare to put in more than 2 potatoes, increase time; checking periodically so they don't explode.) Poke potatoes with a fork to determine if they need more time to cook. Cook for an additional 30 seconds-1 minute depending on tenderness of potato. Cut potatoes open and put your desired toppings on them. Cheese is a favorite and will melt right on the potato. Bacon toppings are good too and don't require extra cooking time. Cooked broccoli or peppers or other veggies make for a rounded meal. Enjoy! #potatoes #whereisyourangel #easymeal The following is from a January devotional entry about angels by Billy Graham. It was forwarded on to me and is worth the read. Ponder the truths found in it and find liberty for your soul. The story that is part of the Scripture referenced is worth the read too. Talk about powerful and inspiring!!
Angels Around Us Billy Graham's Daily Devotion Jan 22, 2018 But the angel of the Lord by night opened the prison doors, and brought them forth . . . –Acts 5:19 Demonic activity and Satan worship are on the increase in all parts of the world. The devil is at work more than at any other time. The Bible says that because he realizes his time is short, Satan's activity will increase. But his evil activities are countered for the people of God by His ministering spirits, the holy ones of the angelic order. Christians should never fail to sense the operation of angelic glory. It forever eclipses the world of demonic powers, as the sun does a candle's light. If you are a believer, expect powerful angels to accompany you in your life experiences. And let those events dramatically illustrate the friendly presence of "the holy ones" as Daniel calls them. Certainly, the eye of faith sees many evidences of the supernatural display of God's power and glory. God is still in business. PRAYER FOR THE DAY When I am tempted by Satan, I will remember Your angels are around me, Lord. #angels #angelwatchingoverme #powerful Sometimes we really don't want to listen to ourselves. If I listened to myself all the time I'd probably eat ice cream after every meal. (And if you are doing that, you should really stop. It's not a good idea.)
Recently I drove by a store whose marquee said, "Measure twice. Cut once. Curse. Repeat." Now while I completely agree with the first half of the sign, the second half does not sit well with me. Let's think about the last word in that sign. "Curse." If we were to conduct "man on the street" interviews and ask people, which would you choose "curse" or "bless"? My guess is "curse' wouldn't have any legitimate takers. Just listen to that word, "curse." Eeek, who wants to be under a curse or near someone speaking a curse? Let alone, who wants to go around "cursing" all day? or even part of the day? Let's listen to ourselves and make sure we curse less, and bless more. I prefer the blessing over a curse any day. And I'll take a repeat of the blessing please! #bless #angelwatchingoverme #listen Let me introduce you to our big vision. We here at Where Is Your Angel?™ are humbled to have our kids books and products bring hope to those facing seemingly hopeless situations and provide tender, meaningful moments for families as well. Angels inspire, give hope, and last for a lifetime.
Our message is simple: making it more meaningful. Whether it is a holiday, sickness, disappointment, ordinary day or a celebration; angels make everything more meaningful. Our goal and purpose is to bring more meaning to people's lives and we are doing that around the world. One of the things our kids angel book series teaches about is identity. Not physical identity but a moral identity. Kids are learning what matters most is being known as “honorable,” “honest one,” “greatly loved,” and more. Kids are learning how to forgive one another and be kind. (A lesson adults can learn too! Have you driven down the road lately??) The feedback from you, our customers, has been overwhelming! Our angels have given “hugs” to kids who face insurmountable loss. They have met kids in their darkest moments with comfort and love like the warm embrace of embers on a cold dreary night. Some of the stories that warm our hearts and bring tears to our eyes include girls who lost their father in a fire. Shortly after the fire that took their dad's life, the girls were read the first book by a neighbor and were introduced to the angel. They were just hugging it and crying, getting comfort for their loss. Another story is of an autistic teenage girl whose grandmother wanted desperately to connect with her via a meaningful gift. The grandmother bought this book. Showed the girl the story and the angel. The autistic girl gave the angel the green light and said the angel could stay. Mothers, grandmothers, aunts, and friends are loving and buying these books with the accompanying angels. This movement is changing and enhancing people's lives. We get pictures from kids hugging and holding their angels, to Moms telling us how it has impacted their home so much they are telling their MOPS groups about this. We have schools and festivals who ask us to come and share the angel stories. We bring the angel. The kids sit, listen, and love it. We have activities for the kids to do – all on our website and free of charge. No one has to buy the book to get the downloadable activities. Our mission is simple: make it meaningful. That is the filter we use in whatever we put out, whatever we say, how we present ourselves, and what we do. Is this going to make it more meaningful for the kids, the families, the adults, the teachers, and the public? Need more meaning in your life? Introduce our series of angel books into your home too. Let the message in the pages of the books linger in your heart and settle in your mind. You will be better because of it. #angelwatchingoverme #whereisyourangel #meaning #vision How many distractions do you encounter in a day? Heck, forget a day, how about per hour?? per minute?? Oh my, if your mind is like mine (bless your heart!) then there is a LOT going on in there. One time my husband and I took a marriage class called Men Are Like Waffles - Women Are Like Spaghetti. The premise of the analogy, is that women's minds are like spaghetti noodles all over the place. We can think of a ton of things all at the same time. While this can be a blessing, it can also be a cause of distractions.
For example, I went online to check my email for something specific. While going online waiting for my email to come up, my eye caught a blurb of an article. I pulled up the article that mentioned something that triggered another thought in my mind and task to be done. Which totally got me off course of why I went online in the first place. Twenty minutes later, I still had not gotten on my email to do what I intended to do initially! Ugh...by the time I redirected myself from this twenty minute distraction and went on my email I was distracted by the myriad of emails in my inbox. A friend's Facebook post enticing me to open, a FREE offering (that word just melts my heart - "free"), an invitation, something from the kids' school, and on and on... Then I had to stop. I put my hands down, away from the mouse, on my lap. Next, I closed my eyes and took a breath. I thought for a second, "Why was I coming on to my email in the first place?" Aha! My original intent came to mind and I focused like a hungry dog on a hunt for the kill. I have found to minimize those flashy, screaming distractions I have to have the focus of a hound dog. On my tool bar, I have my sign-in button to my email. It's the first thing I click after getting online. My eyes are only on the tool bar. That way I don't have to go to an internet portal and be lured away. When I use that, my chances of accomplishing my mission greatly increases! Another thing I do is once on my email, I search for what or who I am looking for or need to address first. This helps me cross things off my list quicker. Then, if there's time, I can give myself 5 minutes to look at the yadayada. Distractions are everywhere. Just while writing this blog, I received text messages and a phone call begging me to answer. Nope. I am a hound dog. I am focused on getting this blog done. Those things can wait until after this gets accomplished. What are some of your tricks you use to avoid or minimize distractions? Let us know! Happy hunting and focus! #distractions #focus #angelblog |
