Let's take a drive down nostalgia lane with our funny anecdote to kick off the weekend. Art Linkletter, a radio and television personality from the 1930's-early 2000's, penned a humorous story about registering to vote.

“A man in Laguna Hills, CA, has good reason to remember the day he first registered to vote. The officials asked for proof that his Polish-born father was a naturalized American, so he went home for the papers. Unfortunately his dad, in the first joyous flush of winning his citizenship, had nailed his papers on the door for his sons to see. Time had now literally glued the old documents to the door. Rather than risk damaging the papers, he and his brothers removed the door from its hinges, carried it down five flights of stairs, and showed it to the officials. Fortunately the Board did not see fit to keep the door for their files, and returned it.”
