Happy Inside!

​Spoiler alert – the following is a story of redemption. Read only if you want to know and are ready for some “inside information.”

When I was 12 years old something significant happened to me that changed my life for the better. It so impacted me that it was evident to others who commented on my happy disposition. They said things like, “You always have a smile on your face...Every time we see you, you are smiling.” Funny thing is, I didn't realize there was a constant smile on my face that  garnered attention. (It was a little embarrassing to be honest.)

That smile inside is still there and reflects on just about everything I do and think. You see at 12 years old I was sitting in church with my Mom. The Pastor said Jesus was standing at the door of our hearts knocking. He went on to say that if anyone wanted to open the door to their heart and let Jesus in to come down to the front of the church. I did.

The next Sunday I was baptized. Sitting in the balcony throughout the rest of the service, there was a tingling feeling all over my body – from the top of my head to the soles of my feet. It was something I had never felt before. It was as if my insides were being washed by His Spirit. This was one of the most pivotal times in my life.

The Lord asked me to share my salvation story with you. Jesus is still knocking on the doors to hearts. He is still the Lover of our souls. Nothing has changed. But when I said, “Come in Jesus,” everything changed for the better.
