Here's a Tip Tuesday

Happy New Year!! This is the time of year people make positive, productive changes they want to see in their lives or community. Whether it's including more fruits and veggies in the diet, recycling more, or volunteering. Today we're giving you a tip that comes with a bonus. Not only is it one that is beneficial for your health but it will also help our environment and natural resources.

Drink orange juice that only comes from U.S. produced oranges. Not in part, but completely. Some orange juice containers will say their orange juice comes from oranges in various countries. More often than not, these orange juice companies get their orange juice from oranges produced by depleting the rainforest. Drinking orange juice only from oranges that come from the U.S. ensures that the rainforest was not harmed. You can find out where the oranges came from on the bottle. If it doesn't say, put it down and don't buy it. 

Not only are you helping the environment, you are also helping Made in the USA businesses. One national brand of orange juice that only gets their oranges from the U.S. is Florida's Natural. We buy their orange juice regularly. Indian River is another brand but they were bought out by a larger company last year so I'm not completely sure if they are still 100% U.S. grown. My local grocery store's generic brand lists that their oranges only come from Florida so I buy their brand too.

It only takes about 5 seconds to read the label in the store. Those 5 seconds could save some of the rainforest, help a Made in the USA company, and make sure you get orange juice that was produced here. What a win-win!
