So Many Choices!

Underneath the peel back lid of a recent yogurt I was eating it offered an interesting fact that got me thinking. According to the lid there are more than 1,000 different varieties of cherry tree, and almost all blossom over a three-week period in late spring.

​Fascinating, isn't it? You would think just one or two or maybe three varieties of cherries would do. But 1,000...wow! Did you know there were so many? This got me thinking about how awesome God is that He gives us so many good things. It's literally a blooming buffet. His array makes sense too. In just about everything He does, He is the God of more not fewer. If we think about humans, just look at all the different types of noses there are. Such detail for so many.

I don't know about you green thumbs out there but creating 1,000 types of cherries would be more work for most than just creating one or a few. But I'm sure for God it was absolutely effortless. He loves for His children to "taste and see that the Lord [our God] is good; how blessed [fortunate, prosperous, and favored by God] is the man who takes refuge in Him." Psalms 34:7.

So the next time you eat a cherry or see the cherry blossoms bloom, remember the creative hand of God. It truly is awe-inspiring!
